REDDING, Calif. – Ellianna Keiser capitalized on a huge bounce off an Anahi Gomez free kick, slotting home a goal in the 17th minute, with the Simpson defense turning away 10 Oregon Tech shots, as the Redhawks topped the Lady Owls, 1-0.
Following an OIT (2-2) foul near midfield, Gomez played a free kick to the top of the 18, with the ball bouncing over three Tech defenders, with Keiser pouncing on the chance from the back post and slotting a shot past keeper
Elle Hillar.
The Lady Owls had four shots on frame, with the best opportunity to tie in the 75th minute, when a
Ryane Mattox chance was saved off the goal line by the Redhawks (2-0-2) defense.
OIT ended the day with a 10-5 edge in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Owls close out the non-conference schedule next Friday at Pacific Union.
