Lady Owls Stop Pacific Union 4-1 to Close Non-League Play

ANGWIN, Calif. – Oregon Tech closed out the non-conference schedule in style, as the Lady Owls rolled to a 4-1 road victory at Pacific Union.

Tech (3-2) got goals from four different players, while Paige Everson, making her first collegiate start, made four saves to earn the victory.

The Lady Owls had a 17-10 edge in shots and built a 2-0 lead in the opening 25 minutes of the contest.

Kaylie Hashizaki provided all the offense Tech needed just 10 minutes in, lofting a 40-yard shot to the near post that went through the hands of Pioneers (0-5-1) keeper Scarlett Gonzales for the 1-0 advantage.

Ten minutes later Ryane Mattox connected on a pass to Kaelyn Jaentsch for a counter, doubling the lead.

Mattox opened the second half from the penalty spot, converting a 47th minute conversion after a foul in the box, with Alejandra Salcedo closing out the scoring in the 66th minute with a pretty 25-yard strike to the top right corner of the twine.

OIT closes out a 7-match road swing to open the season, playing their first Cascade Conference dates next week – Friday at Evergreen State and Saturday at Northwest.
