LEWISTON, Idaho –
Baylee Hodgman had the top round of the day in the 40-player field at the Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, as the Lady Owls share the first-round team lead at Lewiston Country Club.
No. 22-ranked OIT shot a team round of 305 (17-over-par), sharing the Day 1 lead with No. 5-ranked British Columbia (305) – with the two teams holding a 9-stroke lead on No. 19-ranked Lewis-Clark State (314) and a large lead on College of Idaho (330) and Southern Oregon (331).
Hodgman posted three birdies and four bogeys on the day, finishing at 1-over-par 73, two shots ahead of teammate
Madison Dick (75), along with UBC's Jessica Ng (75) and LC State's Isabella Barquet (75).
"It was a solid start for our women's team," said OIT head coach
Dave Myers. "I was great to see three of our five players complete their rounds with nothing worse than a bogey on their cards."
Madie Hepner sits in eighth-place after a first-round 6-over-par 78, with
Alyssa Kauleinamoku (79) in 11th and
Sydney Dick (81) in 17th.
Round 2 of the 54-hole tournament begins Tuesday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
