Freshman Leads Lady Owls on Day 1 in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – Alyssa Kauleinamoku shot a career-best 3-over par 76, the second-best round of the day, helping Oregon Tech to a second-place finish after Day 1 of the Warner Pacific Invitational at Glendoveer Golf Club.
 
The freshman was instrumental for the Lady Owls (320), who sit 11 shots back of team leader British Columbia (309). OIT holds a 9-stroke lead on third-place Lewis-Clark State (329) with 18 holes remaining.
 
Kauleinamoku (76) had two birdies and five bogeys on the day, trailing only UBC standout Jessica Ng (73) on the leaderboard.
 
Sydney Dick (78) is at 5-over-par, tied for fourth, with both Madie Hepner (83) and Madison Dick (83) tied for tenth. Baylee Hodgman (84) and Brittney Barrington (89) round out the Tech competitors.
 
Tuesday's final round is set for a morning shotgun start.
