SALEM, Ore. –
Tucker Piper and
Nolan Sieben each picked up individual victories, as the Oregon Tech men's track team closed out the regular-season at the Berney Classic at Corban University.
Piper claimed a win in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, with his time of 9:54.89 earning him a ticket to the Cascade Conference Championships. Also on the oval, the 4x400-meter relay team clocked a season best time of 3:20.88 – the fourth fastest in the CCC this year, with Braeden Doherty taking second in the 1,500-meters (4:02.09).
In the field events, Sieben continued to have a big freshman season, winning the javelin with a mark of 56.88 meters (186 feet, 7 inches).
Ryan Doherty cleared 3.97 meters (13-0 ¼) – hitting the CCC meet provisional, with
Logan Shurts clearing a career-best 1.90 meters (6-2 ¾) in the high jump and
Zachary Hart taking second in the shot put (14.03 / 46-0 ½).
Tech now has their eyes set on the CCC Championships, set for May 10-11, in La Grande.
