ASHLAND, Ore. –
Braedan Doherty clocked personal best times in two events, recording one of five Cascade Conference qualifying marks by Oregon Tech athletes, as the Hustlin' Owls competed at the Raider Invitational, hosted by Southern Oregon.
In addition,
Kai Miles hit the league mark in the 10,000-meters at the Larry Byerly Classic in Portland, with his time of 31:30.37 the fifth-fastest mark in OIT history.
Doherty cracked the 4-minute barrier in the 1,500-meters (3:59.98) – missing the CCC cut by less than a half second – but rebounded for a stellar 800-meters (1:56.03), hitting the league standard.
Both
Daxton Wilson (9:53.62) and
Bryce Worrell (10:05.20) hit the CCC mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Thomas Adams clocked a solid time of 49.42 in the 400-meters, with
Evan Sneed posting quality times in the 200-meters (22.44) and 400-meters (49.74).
In the field events,
Nolan Sieben claimed a victory in the javelin with a heave of 57.15 meters (187 feet, 6 inches).
Tate Wyman placed third in the long jump (6.52 / 21-4 ¾) and qualified for the CCC Championships with a solid mark of 12.26 meters (40-2 ¾) in the triple jump.
Zachary Hart added two CCC cuts – recording a mark of 38.94 meters (127-9) in the discus and 41.11 meters (134-10) in the hammer.
The Owls close out the regular-season next weekend at the Corban Invite.
