ASHLAND, Ore. –
Eli Stevens dominated a field of 15 athletes on Day 2 of the decathlon, becoming the sixth Oregon Tech athlete to win the Cascade Conference Multi-Event crown, rolling to a victory at Raider Stadium.
The senior scored a personal-best point total of 6,684 – the third-best score in OIT history and the No. 4 mark in the NAIA in 2026. He is the first Hustlin' Owl to win the CCC decathlon since Seth Gretz in 2018.
Stevens had times of 16.65 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and 4:58.44 in the 1,500-meters, while throwing the javelin 41.83 meters. He won the discus with a throw of 41.29 meters, while hitting the NAIA "A" standard in the pole vault, clearing a personal best bar of 4.90 meters.
Ryan Doherty scored a point for the CCC Championships with an eighth-place finish, scoring a career-high 5,728 points. Doherty had a good day on the track, posting the fourth-fastest 1,500-meter time (4:54.71) and had a 16.85 second 110-meter hurdle.
Two other OIT athletes competed, as
Bryson Teal was 14th (4,441 points) and
Bud Patzke was 16th (3,918).
