GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Oregon Tech's
Eli Stevens sits in tenth-place after four events of the heptathlon at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships.
The senior ended Day 1 with 2,649 points – with the 60-meter hurdles, the pole vault and the 1,000-meters to be run on Friday.
Stevens posted a career-best time of 7.21 seconds in the 60-meters to start the day, followed by a season-best mark of 6.47 meters (21 feet, 2 ¾ inches) in the long jump. He posted a 11.56 meter (38-6) throw in the shot put, before clearing 1.73 meters (5-8) in the high jump.
