Eli Stevens capped an outstanding trip to the Silver State, establishing a new Oregon Tech school record in the heptathlon, placing second at the Wolfpack Multi and Invitational inside the Reno Events Center.
Stevens hit the NAIA national qualifying standard with the No. 6 mark this season in the NAIA, with his points total of 5,085 surpassing Seth Gretz's school mark from 2018.
The senior opened the day with a personal best time of 9.04 in the 60-meter hurdles, won the pole vault with a clearance of 4.80 meters (15 feet, 9 inches), while placing third in the 1,000-meters, clocking a personal best time of 2:47.86.
Bud Patzke finished 11th with a two-day score of 4,266 - a new PR. Patzke had Tech's top hurdle time of 8.90 seconds, while clearing 4.20 meters (13-9 1/4) in the vault and ran the 1,000 in 3:39.24.
Bryson Teal ended the meet with 3,163 points, running a 12.14 60-meter hurdles, posting a 3.20 meter (10-6) clearance in the pole vault and clocked a 3:09.59 1,000-meter time.
The rest of the Tech squad is off to Salem tomorrow, competing in the Corban Indoor/Outdoor.
