RENO, Nev. – Indoor school records fell in both the 400-meters and the shot put, as the Oregon Tech men's track team closed out the season-opening Nevada Invitational at the Reno Events Center.
Thomas Adams became the first Hustlin' Owl to run a sub-50 second quarter mile, recording an adjusted time of 49.92 seconds, just ahead of teammate
Evan Sneed (50.04) – both athletes under the previous school record of 50.11 seconds.
Ewan O'Dea (52.60) had a strong mark as well in the 400.
Three athletes ran in the 200-meters, led by
Tate Wyman, clocking a time of 23.04, ahead of
Ryan Doherty (23.61) and
Tyler McIntosh (24.51)
In the shot,
Zachary Hart posted a throw of 12.91 meters (42-4 ¼) in his first attempt as a collegian – just past the previous OIT school mark set by Zach York in 2016 (12.85).
Bud Patzke led three Hustlin' Owls in the high jump, clearing 1.85 meters (6-0 ¾), ahead of
Logan Shurts (1.80 / 5-10 ¾) and McIntosh (1.70 / 5-7).
