MEET INFORMATION: The 2-day meet will be held at Raider Stadium in Ashland, with real-time results provided through
Athletic Timing.
HISTORY AT THE MEET: The Lady Owls won the league title four consecutive years from 2003-06, with their best finish over the last 10 years coming in 2017 (fourth-place). The Hustlin' Owls took second for six-straight years from 1997-02, while recording four third-place efforts, the last in 2018. Last year, Tech hosted the event for the first time since 2012, with the OIT men taking seventh (44 points) and the Lady Owls taking eighth (23 points).
MEET FORMAT: The two-day meet will feature the 11 conference teams (British Columbia, Bushnell, College of Idaho, Corban, Eastern Oregon, Evergreen State, Lewis-Clark State, Multnomah, Northwest, Oregon Tech, Southern Oregon), competing in 24 events per gender. The Top-8 finishers in each event will earn points towards a team score, with the Top-3 finishers in each event earning All-CCC honors.
TWO EVENTS DONE: Two events, the women's heptathlon and the men's decathlon, were conducted last month at Moehl Stadium – but the Owls did not score in either event.
EVENT SCHEDULE: On Friday, field events start at 1 p.m. – with the hammer throw, pole vault, long jump and javelin conducted, while on the track, the 4x800-meter relay, 5,000-meter race walk, 3,000-meter steeplechase, 4x100-meter relay, 1,500-meters, 100/110-meter hurdles, 400-meters and 10,000-meters will be run. Saturday, field events begin at 10:30 a.m. – with the high jump, shot put, triple jump and discus joined on the track by the 100-meters, 800-meters, 400-meter hurdles, 200-meters, 5,000-meters and the 4x400-meter relay.
OIT COMPETITORS: Oregon Tech will have nearly double the amount of competitors at the CCC Championships, as 38 athletes (19 men, 19 women) will be in action. Of the group – five individuals rank in the Top-5 of their respective events – as for the Lady Owls,
Aurora Parsons is No. 2 in the javelin and No. 5 in the discus,
Sophia Small is No. 3 in the triple jump,
Lily Everson is No. 5 in the 400-meter hurdles, with both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays in the fast heat. For the Hustlin' Owls,
Tyas Selby, who recently hit the NAIA "A" standard in the pole vault, ranks No. 2 in the event, with
Ryan Doherty No. 5 in the 400-meter hurdles.
