KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A total of 12 Oregon Tech basketball players were among the 3,143 winter student-athletes to earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors during the current sports season, announced by the national office.
Student-athletes in basketball, wrestling, swimming, bowling, competitive cheer and competitive dance were honored for being at least a sophomore in academic standing, maintaining a 3.50 or better cumulative grade point average after one full year at an institution.Â
Eight Lady Owls players -
Brooke Anderson,
Chelsea Ching,
Ebony McMillan,
Gabbie Gascon,
Jozie Ramos,
Kendall Fealey,
Olivia Sprague and
Tatum Schmerbach - were recognized, as were
Dakota Reber,
Jackson Cooper,
Jared Sucher and
Quincy Townsend from the Hustlin' Owls.
Both teams are awaiting their NAIA Tournament fate - with the selection of the men's and women's 64-team fields to be announced on Thursday afternoon.
