CORVALLIS, Ore. –
Tyas Selby tied the Oregon Tech all-time pole vault record, claiming the individual title at the Oregon State High Performance Meet at Whyte Track Complex.
The freshman cleared 4.95 meters (16 feet, 2 ¾ inches) – tying the mark first set by current assistant,
Hunter Drops, in 2019. The mark from Selby met the NAIA "A" qualifying standard heading into next week's Cascade Conference Championships.
Teammate
Logan Shurts cleared 4.20 meters (13-9 ¼) as the only other OIT competitor in the field.
Tech heads to Ashland next weekend for the CCC Championships at Raider Stadium.
