MARION, Ind. – Oregon Tech's
Eli Stevens placed 15th overall, closing out competition in the decathlon at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
The junior finished with 4,726 points and he battled with an injury sustained in mid-April at the Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championships.
Stevens had a great day in the field events – placing fourth in the pole vault (4.35 meters / 14 feet, 3 ¼ inches), threw the discus 33.46 meters (109-9), while establishing a new personal best mark of 45.81 meters (147-8) in the javelin.
In the two running events, Stevens record times of 21.04 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and 5:21.05 in the 1,500-meters.
