ASHLAND, Ore. –
Ryan Doherty earned all-conference honors with a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, as the Oregon Tech men's track team closed out competition at the 2025 Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Raider Stadium.
The Hustlin' Owls finished the meet with 37 team points – eighth overall. Eastern Oregon claimed the team title with 203 points, followed by College of Idaho (163) and British Columbia (106).
Doherty ran a personal-best time of 55.45 seconds in the second of two heats – clocking the fifth-fastest time in OIT history.
Tech earned points in the 4x400-meter relay, as the team placed eighth with a time of 3:31.15.
Also competing today on the track was
Tucker Piper, who placed 15th in the 800-meters (1:58.36), with
Thomas Long placing 18th in the 5,000-meters (16:50.52).
In the triple jump,
Cole Leader took tenth place with a mark of 11.85 meters (38 feet, 10 ½ inches) and
Hadyn Burk placed 12th with a leap of 11.63 meters (38-2).
OIT will send a pair of athletes to the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, set for May 22-24, in Marion, Ind.
