CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon Tech right-hander Kacie Schmidt was honored today as Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office, while also being selected as NAIASB Pitcher of the Week.

The senior, from Beaverton, helped the Lady Owls to a 5-1 record at the NAIASB Invitational in Oklahoma - combining for a 3-1 record with a 0.32 ERA in 21.1 innings of work. Schmidt allowed just one earned run and struck out 28 - picking up a 2-hit shutout victory over Freed-Hardeman and a 3-hit shutout win over No. 2 ranked USAO.

OIT opens up Cascade Conference play this week, hosting Eastern Oregon in a Friday-Saturday 4-game series at Stilwell Stadium.
