LA GRANDE, Ore. –
Bud Patzke recorded a career-best Day 1 heptathlon score, as Oregon Tech competed on Day 1 of the EOU Last Chance Meet inside Banner Bank Track.
Patzke scored 2,552 points through four events – opening with a time of 7.55 seconds in the 60-meters, followed by a quality mark of 6.38 meters (20-feet, 11.25 inches) in the long jump. The sophomore posted a personal best mark of 10.34 meters (33-11 ¼) in the shot put and a clearance of 1.86 meters (6-1 ¼) in the high jump.
Tyas Selby won the pole vault (4.60 m / 15-1) and added a solid time of 7.29 seconds in the 60-meters.
In the triple jump,
Cole Leader (12.50 m / 41-0 ½) led the OIT tandem in the event, with
Hadyn Burk recording a mark of 11.57 meters (39-11 ¼). In addition,
Hunter Enick posted a mark of 12.17 meters (39-11 ¼) in the weight throw, Logan Shirts cleared 4.00 meters (13-1 ½) in the pole vault and
Bryson Teal clocked a time of 7.66 in the 60-meters.
