60-Meter and Shot Put Records Fall at Nevada Multi & Invite

RENO, Nev. – Two school records fell by the wayside as the Oregon Tech women's track team closed out competition at the Nevada Multi and Invite inside the Reno Convention Center.
 
Opening the day, transfer thrower Aurora Parsons became the first Lady Owl to surpass 40 feet in the indoor shot put, posting a mark of 12.37 meters (40 feet, 7 inches). Three others competed in the event – Ciena Gregory (9.96m / 32-8 ¼), Tarrah Bickford (8.31m / 27-3 ¼) and Madi Perkins (7.76m / 25-5 ½).
 
On the straight-away, McKenna Donovan recorded her season school record in as many days, clocking a time of 8.03 seconds in the 60-meters. Sydney Soskis finished right behind Donovan with a time of 8.08 seconds. Rounding out the OIT competitors was Perkins in the 60-meter hurdles (12.00).
 
The Lady Owls return to action next weekend at the Corban Invite.
