BROOKINGS, S.D. - Oregon Tech's
Eli Stevens jumped three positions following the final three events of the heptathlon at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships, inside Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
The sophomore finished the 2-day event with 4,575 points - finishing ahead of athletes from Eastern Oregon, Clarke (Iowa), Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) and York (Neb.).
Stevens opened Day 2 with a time of 9.57 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, took fifth in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3 inches), while closing the competition with a time of 2:53 in the 1,000-meters.
The OIT team will have next weekend off before the outdoor season opener in Portland at Lewis & Clark's Electric Forest Open.
