Stevens Finishes Day 1 of Heptathlon at NAIA Meet

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Day 1 of the NAIA Indoor National Championships is in the books for Eli Stevens, as the Oregon Tech multi-event standout sits in 14th-place at the midway point of the heptathlon.
 
Stevens clocked a time of 7.34 seconds in the 60-meters to start his day, following with a mark of 6.25 meters (20 feet, 6 ¼ inches) in the long jump. After tossing the shot put 11.28 meters (37 feet, ¼ inch), the sophomore ended the afternoon with a clearance of 1.69 meters (5 feet, 6 ½ inches) in the high jump.
 
Tomorrow at 8 a.m. (PST), Stevens will race in the 60-meter hurdles, followed by the pole vault and the 1,000-meters – with the Top-8 finishers among the 16 athletes earning All-America honors.
