Oregon Tech Men Fall in Season Opener

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Mustangs of the Master's University improved to 3-0 on the season scoring two second half goals to knock-off Oregon Tech 2-0 in the Owls' season opener Friday in the first game of the Master's Fall Classic on Reese Field.

"We did some things well today," said Head Coach Matt Munhall. "Our back line was solid and we moved the ball down the pitch with success. The Masters is a good program and they were able to capitalize on their few opportunities. We will look to bounce back in tomorrow's contest against Hope International."

Benji Tembo scored the first goal of the game in the 47th minute off an assist from Luis Garcia Sosa giving the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. Cameron Molyneux gave the home team a 2-0 lead scoring an insurance goal in the 63rd minute.

TMU outshot the Owls 19-10 for the game and held an 11-6 edge in shots on goal.

Nine different Owls had a shot in the game with no one able to convert on their opportunity.

Up Next: The men will play Hope International University tomorrow at 2:00 pm as part of the Master's Fall Classic in Santa Clarita, California.
