HELENA, Montana – Carroll College (7-6-1, 6-5-1 CCC) scored twice in each half on the way to a 4-0 shutout win over Oregon Tech (6-8-2, 5-6-1 CCC) Friday afternoon at Nelson Stadium.
With one game remaining on the schedule, the loss drops the Owls into a tie with College of Idaho for the final playoff spot in the Cascade Conference. The good news for the Hooter, they have the tie-breaker over the Yotes after winning the head-to-head match-up 2-0 in Klamath Falls on September 14. Tech will play at Providence (6-3-3 CCC) in Great Falls on Saturday while College of Idaho (5-6-1) will host The Evergreen State (5-3-3) on Sunday in Caldwell. Providence currently sits in 5
th while Evergreen is in 7
th.
Santiago Morazzani gave the host Saints a 1-0 lead with a score in the 26
th minute, Alessio Georgiades quickly made 2-0 Carroll converting a free kick from 23 yards out in the 34
th minute.
Two second half goals by Jose Porras put the game away for the Saints winning 4-0.
In the match the Saints held a 16-9 advantage in shots and a 9-5 edge in shots on goal.
Tech will try to hold on for the eighth and final playoff spot with a win at the University of Providence on Saturday at 12:00 pm (Pacific)
