OIT has posted 16-straight wins in the series and lead the all-time series, 71-32.
Â
BEST STARTS: OIT equaled their best 30-game start to a season, with the current 27-3 record match that of the 2006 club that opened the year with a 32-3 mark. Tech began seasons with a 26-4 record four times (1998, 2012, 2021, 2022), while opening 25-5 in 2002, 2023 and 2025. Outside of the Covid ended season in 2021, the Owls have won 40-or-more games 6-straight seasons, while posting 35-or-more wins every year since 2011. The club has 25 seasons with 30-or-more wins, 13 seasons with 40-or-more wins and two seasons with 50-or-more wins.
Â
LADY OWLS RANKED NO. 2: The Owls 27-3 start to the year helped the club climb two spots to No. 2 in the latest NAIA Top-25 poll, released on March 18. Oregon teams hold the Top-3 spots – with Eastern at No. 1, Tech at No. 2 and Southern at No. 3. It is the sixth-straight year OIT has earned a Top-2 ranking and the 16th time the Owls have been ranked either No. 1 or No. 2. In the NAIASB Media Poll, released Monday, Tech climbed to the No. 1 position.
Â
12-0 AT HOME: The Lady Owls improved to 12-0 record at Stilwell Stadium this season with the sweep of UBC. The yard has been one of the more difficult places in the NAIA for opponents to play since it opened in 2019, as OIT is a combined 139-23 on the Stilwell Stadium turf, an 86% win percentage.
Â
DOMINANT HOME SERIES NETS TEAM OF THE WEEK AWARD: Facing the top pitching team in the Cascade Conference, the Lady Owls made a statement to the league – averaging over 10 hits a game, outscoring British Columbia, 24-4 (including nine runs in Game 3, the most UBC has allowed this season), completing a 4-game sweep, earning CCC Team of the Week honors. OIT dominated the circle, limiting UBC to 14 hits in the series, while the Owls did not commit an error.
Â
DOUBLES GALORE: The Game 3 win for the Lady Owls was an extra-base explosion, as Tech combined for eight doubles and a home run in the victory. The eight doubles equaled the No. 2 mark on the OIT single-game list and the most doubles posted by an OIT team since the 1997 squad recorded a school-record 14 doubles in a win at Menlo.
Â
SCHMIDT CONTINUES TO PUT UP ZEROS: For the second time this season, right-hander
Kristine Schmidt was honored as CCC Pitcher of the Week, dominating the UBC bats throughout the series. The junior picked up wins in each of the three league counters, moving to 12-0 on the season – the 12 wins ranking No. 7 in the NAIA. Schmidt pitched 17 innings, allowing just one run on six hits, striking out 23 batters – including a masterful one-hit shutout in Game 1 of the series, striking out a season-high 11 batters. The transfer extended a string of innings without allowing an earned run to 40 before a sixth-inning run in Game 3 ended the string.
Â
COOK COOKS: Throughout the UBC series,
Nita Cook lived on base, putting pressure on the T-Bird defense. The second-baseman recorded multi-hit games in all four contests (now with 17 multi-hit games this season), going 9-for-14, with two doubles, a homer and three RBI, scoring five runs. Cook has reached base in 20 consecutive games and jumped into the top spot in the CCC batting average list, entering the week hitting .471 on the year.
Â
CLUTCH HITS: OIT got three go-ahead hits in three different games against UBC – key moments in the 4-game sweep.
Brooklyn Loose made the most of her first home run of the season, a ninth inning solo shot in Game 2 that gave the Owls a 2-1 lead – with the bullpen holding the advantage. In Game 3,
Leah Huffman lined a fourth inning RBI single to break a scoreless tie, setting the table for the Owls big win. In Game 4, it was
Jazmine Macias, who erased a 2-1 deficit in the fourth inning, lining a 2-run single to give Tech a lead they would not surrender.
Â
KACHNIK REACHES MILESTONE: A big senior season continued for 4-year starting third baseman
Addison Kachnik, who became the 22nd OIT player to surpass 200 hits for a career with a Game 4 single on Sunday afternoon. Kachnik was 5-for-13 in the series, including her 11th double of the year and her fourth home run of the season – upping her team-leading RBI count to 29.
Â
SENIOR STRONG: The OIT senior class continued an outstanding 2026 season, as
Malia Mick,
Sawyer Stenson and
Carli Moore made impacts in the UBC series. Mick had three 2-hit games, finishing 7-for-14 with a double, triple and five runs scored, with Stenson going 6-for-16 with two doubles and three RBI. Moore closed out the series in the circle, tossing a complete-game 3-hitter, striking out four, for her third win of the year.
