OPPONENT INFORMATION – WARNER PACIFIC (6-6-2, 4-5-1 CCC) | 27TH MEETING | WPU LEADS SERIES, 15-6-5 | LAST MEETING IN 2025 (WPU 1, OIT 0): A result in Friday's match-up against the defending CCC Tournament champ and national quarterfinalist Warner Pacific would go a long way in Tech securing a postseason spot. The Knights have rebounded from a 2-6-2 start, winning 4-of-5, thanks to a defense allowing just 1.07 goals per game. Forwards Wicho Gonzalez (4 goals) and Jose Robles (4 goals) anchor the attack, alongside Julio Andrade (2 goals, 1 assist) and Ethan Zavala (2 goals, 1 assist). Owen Purvis (1.59 GAA) has played the majority of minutes in goal. Tech is searching for their first home win over WPU since 2021.
Â
OPPONENT INFORMATION – WALLA WALLA (3-7-3, 3-4-3 CCC) | 11TH MEETING | OIT LEADS SERIES, 9-1 | LAST MEETING IN 2025 (OIT 1, WWU 0): The Wolves are in the midst of the best season in program history, with Walla Wall coming to the Basin Sunday searching for their first-ever playoff bid. WWU has played well on the road, earning draws at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho, but are playing their first road dates in nearly a month. The attack revolves around Paulo Tostado (7 goals), who ranks second in the CCC in goals, playing alongside Gabriel Delgadillo (2 goals), as the pair have combined for nine of the 10 WWU goals. Sebastian Vargas (1.56 GAA) serves as the Wolves keeper.
Â
SENIOR DAY: This weekend marks the final home games for five OIT senior student-athletes –
Tidus Paet-Vegas,
Andre Ramirez,
Cristian Sanchez,
Dalton Rideout and
Kasey Smith. The players will be honored in a ceremony immediately following Friday's women's match with Warner Pacific.
Â
PLAYOFF SPOT UP FOR GRABS: Despite a one-point trip to the Willamette Valley, the Hustlin' Owls still have a playoff life – despite sitting alone in 11th-place in the CCC standings with two matches remaining. Four teams are within four points of Tech – including both weekend opponents (Warner Pacific and Walla Walla), with Corban having to play at Rocky Mountain and Carroll, while Evergreen has road dates at College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Four teams have clinched spots in the 8-team CCC Championships – Rocky, Carroll, Bushnell and Southern Oregon.
Â
TECH TIED FOR NATIONAL LEAD IN DRAWS: A 0-0 draw on Friday at Corban extended the OIT single-season draws record, as the Hustlin' Owls posted their seventh tie of the season. The Owls are one of three NAIA teams with seven draws on the year, as both Huston-Tillotson and Warner have played seven matches to all-square scores. It was the 38th draw in program history, with Tech playing 13 matches ending in a 0-0 score, 15 matches ending at 1-1, nine games ending at 2-2, with one match finishing 3-3.
Â
CLEAN SHEET FOR HARWOOD: Keeper
Noah Harwood recorded his sixth shutout of the season in the draw at Corban, becoming the sixth OIT player to post 6-or-more shutouts in a season. The freshman faced just four shots in the outing – thanks to stellar play from backs
Eric McGuire,
Yahir Ramos and
Sammy Villalta – the fourth time Tech has surrendered 6-or-fewer shots in a match. At Bushnell, Harwood recorded a season-high eight saves in the 2-0 loss, the fifth time in seven matches he logged 6-or-more saves.
Â
OFFENSE SPUTTERS IN THE VALLEY: Tech was unable to find the net in either weekend match in the Willamette Valley – taking just three shots in the 0-0 draw at Corban and six shots in the 2-0 loss at Bushnell – the two lowest shot totals by the club this season. It was the fifth and sixth time this season that the Owls have failed to score a run in a match.
