AT OREGON TECH: Mike Anderson is in his fourth season as head coach of the men's and women's cross country and track programs...coached two All-Americans and three All-Cascade Conference cross country runners and 12 track All-CCC honorees, four track and field CCC champions and an NAIA National Champion. In addition, has has coached 29 Academic All-CCC selections and 27 NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
COACHING HISTORY: Anderson spent 15 seasons as the top assistant for the College of Idaho cross country and track programs, focusing on the distance runners. He helped the squad to eight Cascade Conference women's cross country titles, seven CCC women's track and field, three CCC men's cross country titles and the 2021 CCC men's track championship, with four distance runners (Hillary Holt, Sora Klopfenstein, Sarah Johnson, Molly Vitale-Sullivan) winning NAIA national titles. He spent four seasons as the head cross country and track coach at Ilwaco High in Washington, with his squad placing third in both the boys and girls 2A state championships in 2005, along with coaching the 2A state 800-meter champion in 2003. Anderson also spent one season as assistant coach at Taft High in Lincoln City, Ore.
HONORS: Was named the 2021 USTFCCCA Women's Track & Field Western Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
PERSONAL: A graduate of Eastern Oregon University, Anderson was an NAIA All-American in cross country during the 2000 season and has run post-collegiately for the Eastside Track Club, where he placed third at the 2008 USATF Trail Marathon championships.
