MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif. – Freshmen claimed Oregon Tech's top-two finishing spots, as the Lady Owls placed third at the Jim Hunt Humboldt Invitational at Beau Pre Golf Course.
The Lady Owls had 71 place points, finishing behind team champ and host, Cal Poly Humboldt (24) and second-place Southwestern Oregon CC (34).
Anika Jenson led the way for Tech, finishing ninth overall with a 6,000-meter time of 24:04, with fellow freshman
Leona Higgins in 15th place with a time of 24:31.
Seniors
Charis Childers (24:44) and
Corinne Childers (25:17) took 17th and 19th, with Ava Shackleford (26:02) in 22nd closing out the Tech scoring five.
OIT will train the next two weeks, with the next action at the Charles Bowles Invitational in early October.
