Parsons Earns All-CCC, Lady Owls 5th at CCC Championships

INDEPENDENCE, Ore. – Saundra Parsons earned All-Cascade Conference honors, helping Oregon Tech place fifth overall at the CCC Women's Cross Country Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Oak Knoll Golf Course.

The Lady Owls had all five of their scoring runners in the Top-42, finishing the day with 128 place-points. Tech trailed the four Top-25 teams in the CCC – as College of Idaho (39), Southern Oregon (91), Eastern Oregon (102) and Lewis-Clark State (105) took the top-four positions.

Parsons finished 13th overall (22:36) on the 6,000-meter course, with the next three OIT runners tightly packed – Charis Childers (23:12) in 21st, Chloe Crawford (23:21) in 26th and Corinne Childers in 28th with a personal best time of 23:29. Raleena Maxson (24:32) closed out the scoring group for the Lady Owls in 42nd.

Evergreen State's Alauna Parsons won the individual title with a time of 20:49.

Tech will play the waiting game – to see if the Lady Owls receive an at-large bid to the NAIA Championships on Nov. 21 in Tallahassee, Fla., or if Parsons receives one of four at-large berths for individuals from the CCC. The field and individual qualifiers will be announced on Tuesday afternoon.
