COMPLETE WEEKLY MEDIA NOTEBOOK

GAMEDAY INFORMATION: All Cascade Conference matches will be streamed live on the Urban Edge Network. Stats of all Cascade Conference matches will be available through OIT's SIDEARM Stats Portal.

OPPONENT PREVIEW – BUSHNELL: The final weekend of the regular-season begins in Eugene, as the Lady Owls look for a season sweep of Bushnell – a Beacons (18-10, 12-6 CCC) team that takes a 4-match win streak into the match-up. The No. 20-ranked team in the NAIA attacks at a .203 clip, averaging 12.3 kills, 2.1 aces and 2.2 blocks per set – led by outside hitters Hailey Heider (3.38 k/s, 2.63 d/s, 40 aces) and Amyah Semau (2.46 k/s, 2.70 d/s), opposite hitter Leah Agost (2.41 k/s, 0.67 b/s) and middle Soleil Sands (1.46 k/s, 1.23 b/s). Setter Emma Fa'alogo (5.74 a/s, 1.61 d/s) is one of three setters used by the Beacons this season, with Kailey Shirley serving as the libero. OIT holds a 21-19 all-time series record – including a 3-set sweep of Bushnell in Eugene last season.

OPPONENT PREVIEW – CORBAN: The regular-season ends in the Capitol City, as Tech looks to snap an 11-match losing streak to Corban. The No. 5-ranked Warriors (21-4, 15-3) are looking to sew up a Top-2 finish in the CCC standings, thanks to a defense that limits teams to a .128 attack percentage, with Corban averaging 13.7 kills and 2.2 blocks a set. A dynamic offensive attack is led by Makayla Roginski (3.29 k/s, 0.79 b/s), with Kendra Bittle (2.70 k/s, 1.48 d/s), Emma Bischoff (2.97 k/s, 2.52 d/s, 45 aces) and Gracie Boeder (1.85 k/s, 1.00 b/s) all dangerous options. Setters Abby Guindy (6.58 a/s, 1.86 d/s) and Nadeiah Howard (4.75 a/s, 1.82 d/s) are among the top setters in the CCC, as is libero Kaile'a Ontai (4.44 d/s). Corban holds a 35-26 all-time series lead on OIT, with Tech looking for their first win in Salem since 2014.

PLAYOFF PICTURE: Tech's postseason hopes are razor thin – as the Lady Owls must go on the road and sweep Bushnell and Corban, while Northwest must drop a home match to last-place Warner Pacific – which would force a tie for eighth in the standings. Since OIT and NU split the regular-season series, both by 3-0 margins, the Owls and Eagles would go to the third tiebreak, record vs. teams in descending order – with a potential win over Corban giving Tech the advantage.

FINALLY A TOP-25 WIN: OIT finally broke through against a Top-25 foe, snapping a 27-match losing streak against ranked opponents with their 3-set sweep of Northwest. Over the last 10 years, the Owls are a combined 6-69 vs. Top-25 teams, with the 2025 team now 1-8 against the Top-25 (2-4 vs. teams receiving votes) prior to two Top-25 dates this weekend.

TWO COMPLETE EFFORTS: The Lady Owls first weekend sweep of the season was keyed by stellar play both offensively and defensively. For the first time in CCC play, OIT had a hitting percentage above .250 (.254 vs. NU, .286 vs. TESC), while holding their opponents to a combined .012 attack percentage. Tech finished with a 16-4 edge in aces, along with a 14-5 edge in blocks.

BOYD EARNS NATIONAL HONOR: Headlining the big weekend was Tech setter Lucy Boyd, who captured OIT's first NAIA Setter of the Week honor in recent history, while posting her second CCC Setter of the Week honor of the season. The sophomore averaged 12 assists and three digs per set – including a monster match vs. Northwest, with 36 assists and 14 digs in the upset win.

SORENSEN REACHES MILESTONE: Libero Abigail Sorensen led the team with 13 digs in Saturday's win over Evergreen State, surpassing the 1,000-dig mark for her OIT career, becoming the 11th player to achieve the milestone. Sorensen currently ranks No. 2 in the CCC, averaging 4.44 digs per set.

SENIOR SUCCESS: Seniors Savanna Sterck, Willow Jacobson and Lex Boccia made the most of their final two matches in Klamath Falls, each putting up big numbers in the weekend wins. Sterck logged back-to-back double-digit kill matches, recording 10 kills vs. NU and 11 kills vs. Evergreen, while Boccia had eight kills in the Friday win, adding 11 kills in the Saturday sweep. For Jacobson, the opposite hitter combined for 15 kills and six blocks – surpassing the 200-block mark for her OIT career.

AROUND THE CCC: The final week of the CCC schedule will determine the league champ, those teams receiving byes to the final site of the CCC Tournament, along with the pairing for the first-round of the tournament. Eastern Oregon and Corban can clinch a spot in the semifinals with a win this weekend, with LC State and Bushnell earning a bye with a weekend win. Along with OIT and Southern Oregon traveling to Bushnell and Corban, Warner Pacific heads to Northwest and Evergreen, while LC and Walla Walla play at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho.
