EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University eliminated Oregon Tech from playoff contention, clinching themselves a first-round Cascade Conference Tournament bye, as the Beacons topped the Lady Owls, 25-11, 25-14, 25-17 in the Morse Event Center.
Savanna Sterck and
Willow Jacobson led the Lady Owls (12-14, 6-13 CCC) with five kills each and
Lucy Boyd had 14 assists, three blocks and five digs in the loss, as BU used a 39-17 edge in kills and a 10-4 edge in aces to claim the home win.
The No. 20-ranked Beacons (19-10, 13-6) took the first two sets by jumping out to 13-2 and 10-4 leads, but Tech played even with the nationally-ranked foe in Set 3, pulling within 17-16 late in the period. However, BU closed the match on an 8-1 run to claim the win.
Amyah Semau had 12 kills, Hailey Heider with 11 and Soleil Sands posted 10 in the win for the Beacons.
The Lady Owls close out the season tomorrow afternoon, traveling to No. 5-ranked Corban.
