Lady Owls in 2nd Place After Round 1 in Arizona

BUCKEYE, Ariz. – Sydney Dick shot an even-par 72 to headline a great opening round for the Oregon Tech women's golf team at the Firestorm Fall Classic, hosted by Arizona Christian, at Verrado Golf Club.
 
The sophomore paired four birdies with four bogeys on the day, sitting in a tie with Embry-Riddle's Lila Becker in second-place in the 60-player field.
 
The Lady Owls had a stellar opening round, finishing at 10-over-par (298) – just one stroke behind team-leader Embry-Riddle (297), with OIT seven strokes clear of third-place ACU (305).
 
Madie Hepner (73) is in a tie for fourth-place after 18 holes, with Madison Dick (76) in 13th and both Alyssa Kauleinamoku and Baylee Hodgman each tied for 17th after shooting a pair of 5-over-par 77s.
 
Round 2 of the event is set for a Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. start
