KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The second best single-round score in program history wasn't enough for Oregon Tech to climb the leaderboard, as the Lady Owls finished third in the opening Cascade Conference women's golf event of the 2026-27 season, the OIT Fall Invitational at Running Y Resort.
Tech (304-296 – 600) shot a stellar 8-over-par final round, one stroke off the school record, with their 36-hole total of 600 the fourth-best effort since the program began over a decade ago.
Unfortunately, both British Columbia (292-287 – 579) and Lewis-Clark State (304-292 – 596) equaled the effort – UBC shooting a 1-under-par final round and LC earning second by carding a 4-over-par score.
Three Lady Owls shot 1-over-par on the day – as both
Alyssa Kauleinamoku (75-73 – 148) and
Madison Dick (75-73 – 148) tied for sixth overall, with
Sydney Dick (78-73 – 151) placing 12th.
Isabella Barquet (74-69 – 143) of LC State earned medalist honors after shooting a career-best 3-under-par in the final round, including a key up-and-down on her final hole to claim the title.
Both
Madie Hepner (76-80 – 156) and
Kali Rowe (79-77 – 156) earned Top-20 finishes, placing 16th. Four other OIT players were in action –
Hayley Sanborn (83-91 – 174),
Lexi Rice (86-90 – 176),
Sydney Stenson (90-87 – 177) and
Payton Susee (91-94 – 185).
The Owls next compete in two weeks at the Grisham Memorial, hosted by Saint Martins, Sept. 21-22.
