Lady Owls Close Out Tournament in Florida, Place 12th

PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Competing against nine Top-20 teams in their own backyard, the Oregon Tech women's golf team had their best round of their tournament this morning, helping the Lady Owls place 12th overall at The Invite at Innisbrook on the South Course of Innisbrook Golf and Country Club.

COMPLETE RESULTS

OIT (312-313-310 – 935) had two players climb 12 spots on the leaderboard over the final 18 holes, with the Owls narrowly missing a Top-10 finish. SCAD-Savannah (284-290-297 – 871) claimed the team title, with host Dalton State (296-290-301 – 887) 16 strokes back and Eckerd College (297-303-293 – 893) in third.

"We would have liked to score better as a team, but there are many positives to pull from this experience," said head coach Dave Myers. "This trip will make us a better team in the long run."

Quincy Beyrouty (71-76-74 – 221) capped a solid tournament, earning her second-straight Top-10 finish – placing tenth in the 99-player field. Sophomore Madie Hepner (75-78-75 – 228) vaulted up the leaderboard, placing 26th after equaling her top score of the tournament.

Madison Dick (79-78-85 – 242), Baylee Hodgman (88-87-76 – 251) and Navy Wood (87-81-100 – 268) rounded out the OIT competitors, with Hodgman shaving 11 strokes off her top Day 1 score.

Tech now prepares to host their annual tournament at the Running Y Resort – the Run-In at the Ranch, set for next Monday and Tuesday.

"Quincy had a solid tournament – she continues to grow as a player," Myers said. "I am proud of the team and we all look forward to hosting at the end of the month."
