CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon Tech libero Kaley Whalen was honored as Rize Laboratory-Cascade Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office.

The sophomore, from Reno, set a new OIT school record with 41 digs in Friday's 5-set come-from-behind victory at Evergreen State. Whalen added 13 digs on Saturday at Northwest, her 11th-straight match with 10-or-more digs.

Whalen ranks No. 4 in the CCC, averaging 4.53 digs per set and moved into the OIT all-time Top-25 with 534 career digs.

The Lady Owls return home for four of their next five matches, beginning Friday vs. College of Idaho at 7 p.m.
