No. 1 Lady Owls Grab Friday Sweep in Rocklin

ROCKLIN, CA. – Oregon Tech (9-3) displayed strong offense and resolute defense to earn a sweep in victories over William Jessup (8-3) and Antelope Valley (2-9) on Friday afternoon. The victories for Tech give them their sixth and seventh straight as they continue to build momentum.

Game One:
#1 Oregon Tech 7
William Jessup 2

Looking to avenge their two opening-week losses to William Jessup, Tech played with a vengeance on Friday, totaling seven runs on eight hits to grab the victory.

OIT scored runs in the first, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings as a part of a balanced attack they sprung onto the hosts.

The offensive attack was highlighted by a Jayce Seavert two-run HR in the 4th, which put Tech ahead for good.

While the bats were hot, Sarah Abramson held it down in the circle with an inspired performance.

Abramson threw seven complete innings, allowing only one earned run while striking out five and limiting the walks to two.

While Abramson led Tech in the circle, three Owls paced their side at the plate:

Jayce Seavert: 1-for-3 with 3 RBIs and a run scored
Maggie Buckholz: 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored
Kennedy Jantzi: 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs

William Jessup was led at the plate by Hangebrau, who went 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

Game Two:
#1 Oregon Tech 8
Antelope Valley 0

In game two, Oregon Tech earned a run-rule victory to sweep Friday's doubleheader.

After grabbing a run in the top of the 2nd, Tech exploded in the 3rd and 4th to win the game in five innings.

A trio of two-RBI hits was the key for Tech on Friday.

In the third inning, Kennedy Jantzi had a two-RBI single to stretch Tech's lead to 3-0.

In the fourth inning, Kaila Mick had a two-RBI single to stretch Tech's lead to 5-0.

Then in succession, Maggie Buckholz doubled to right-center field for two runs to put Tech up 7-0, leading to a run-rule in the 5th.

Mckenzie Staub was excellent in the circle once again, hurling four innings of one-hit softball while striking out six.

The Lady Owls were led at the plate by Kennedy Jantzi, who went 1-for-3 with 3 RBIs.

Tech will have a chance for a double sweep when they face off against the same two opponents tomorrow.
