OLYMPIA, Wash. – Last season, Oregon Tech forward
Caitlyn Price missed the majority of the year due to injury. In her fourth game back, the junior made a big impact, scoring back-to-back second half goals, leading the Lady Owls to a 2-1 victory over The Evergreen State College to open Cascade Conference play.
The Lady Owls (4-2, 1-0 CCC) won their second-straight match overall and opened league play with a victory for the third-straight season.
Price broke a scoreless tie in the 65th minute, making a run into the left side of the box and converting chance to the right side of the goal.
Five minutes later, Price struck again, taking a pass from
Kaelyn Jaentsch and slotting home the 10-yard opportunity for a 2-goal lead.
The Geoducks (0-2-1, 0-1) made it interesting late in the match, as Tech keeper
Elle Hillar made her only save on an 84th minute chance from Neveah Moncada. In the waning seconds, an OIT foul gave Madeline Dorendorf a free kick from 30-yards out, a chance that snuck into the net to get the hosts on the board – but TESC could not get another shot before the final horn sounded.
Tech finished the match with an 11-6 edge in shots and were on the attack throughout, being whistled seven times for being in an offsides position.
The Lady Owls close out a 7-match road swing to open 2026 tomorrow with a 12:30 p.m. date at Northwest University.
