Lightning Pushes Lady Owls Opening Round to Wednesday

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Oregon Tech will have to wait a day to make their NAIA Women's Golf National Championship debut, as afternoon rounds were postponed to Wednesday due to severe weather in and around Eagle Crest Golf Club.

Play was suspended at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) due to a thunderstorm – with the morning flight of 15 teams still having to finish between their back-9's. Once the storm passed – there wasn't enough time to get the course in playable shape to get athletes back on the course.

Wednesday – the 15 teams will complete their rounds beginning at 9 a.m. (EDT), while the Lady Owls will begin their first round at 9:40 a.m. (EDT) off the first tee.

All 30 teams will play Round 2 on Thursday – with a cut to follow (Top-15 teams and ties, along with the Top-6 individuals not on an advancing team). The tournament has been trimmed to a 54-hole event – with the final round set for Friday.
