SALEM, Ore. – For the second time this season, Corban used a fourth quarter run to break open a close game, as the No. 22-ranked Warriors completed a season sweep of Oregon Tech, topping the Lady Owls, 70-60, inside the C.E. Jeffers Center.
The loss snapped the OIT (15-8, 11-4 CCC) six-game win streak and their six-game CCC road win streak.
The Lady Owls cut an 8-point third quarter deficit to 41-40 late in the period on a
Tatum Schmerbach 3-pointer, but Corban got six points each from Emilia Bishop and Jenna Albrecht in a 13-2 run over a 5-minute stretch spanning into the fourth quarter to blow the game wide open.
The Warriors (19-4, 12-3 CCC) made 6-of-9 field goals in the final period, as Jersey Huerta led the hosts with 19 points on the night and Albrecht added 18.
Tech led 18-15 late in the first quarter, but Corban closed the half on a 13-4 run to take a 34-26 lead to the break. Schmerbach tried to will the visitors back in the game, scoring 16 of her game-high 21 points after halftime.
Olivia Sprague scored 11 and
Jozie Ramos had eight points and nine rebounds in the loss, as OIT was outrebounded 37-28 on the night.
The Lady Owls close out the road swing tomorrow at 3 p.m. with a date at Bushnell.
