Lady Owls Cruise to Straight-Set Win Over Evergreen

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Aleksen Thayer led a balanced Oregon Tech attack with nine kills, as the Lady Owls held The Evergreen State College to a negative hitting percentage in a 25-8, 25-20, 25-15 victory at Danny Miles Court.

The Lady Owls (9-8, 3-6 CCC) finished with a 41-16 edge in kills and added eight aces and nine blocks in their seventh-straight win over the Geoducks. The visitors ended the evening with a negative .071 attack percentage.

Leading 5-4 in Set 1, OIT rattled off 13 of the next 14 points, as Emma Kness had two aces and the Owls combined on three blocks, holding an opponent to their lowest set score of the season.

Set 2 was much closer, as the Geoducks (2-11, 1-8) held a 13-12 lead after a Bright Brubaker kill, but Tech used a 9-3 run, including a pair of Thayer kills, to give the Owls space to claim the set victory.

OIT left no doubt early in Set 3, as Thayer and Alexa Gugliotta each had two kills in a 10-4 run to open the set, as the Owls rolled to the win.

Kaliko Schilling had eight kills, Tiffini Goss added seven kills and Gugliotta had seven kills and six blocks for the Owls. Setter Taryn Ramsay posted five kills and 30 assists, with Kaley Whalen recording 19 digs.

Zofia Formella led TESC with six kills.

Tech closes out the weekend tomorrow at 7 p.m., hosting Northwest University.
