ABOUT BUSHNELL: The regular-season closes against rival Bushnell, as the Beacons (31-15, 21-12 CCC) end a gauntlet of a stretch – having played UBC, LC State and OIT to end the conference schedule. The Eugene school has thrived at home, recording a 23-6 mark on their own diamond, but have an 8-9 mark away from the Valley. The Beacons have a .283 team batting average, clubbing 65 home runs – but have struck out 376 times, tops in the CCC. Four players have 9-or-more homers – Will Hudler (.345 9 HR 33 RBI), Albert Jennings (.336 9 HR 25 RBI), Jordan Wilson (.288 15 HR 46 RBI) and Cade Crist (.288 11 HR 40 RBI). Bushnell's pitching staff is key to their success, recording a 4.35 team ERA behind starters Max Chapman (6-1 3.50 ERA) and Austin Wolfe (2-1 4.74), along with relievers Garrett Vohs (4-2 2.70 ERA) and Ethan Sachs (0-1 2.77 ERA, 5 saves). The Beacons won 2-of-3 against Tech in February, but OIT holds a 14-9 series edge, including a 4-0 mark in the Basin.
 
PLAYOFF PICTURE: The Owls need one win over Bushnell this weekend to clinch at worst the No. 3 seed in the CCC Tournament, while Tech could climb into the No. 2 spot depending on the outcome of the LC State-UBC series. LC can clinch the league title (and CCC Tournament host site) by winning 3-of-4 against UBC, while UBC earns the crown with a series split (or better). College of Idaho secures the No. 5 seed with one win over Eastern Oregon. OIT has clinched a spot in the 5-team Cascade Conference Championships – their 16th all-time playoff appearance and the fourth postseason appearance in five years. Tech made five trips to the NAIA District II Tournament (1974, 1981, 1982, 1986, 1989), three trips to the NAIA Region I Tournament (2004, 2005, 2006), four trips to the NAIA West Tournament (2009, 2010, 2013, 2017) and Cascade Conference Tournament appearances in 2021, 2023 and 2024.
 
HOMESTAND CONTINUES: Tech will close their 16-game homestand to end the regular-season, taking a 15-1 home record and a string of 22 wins in 23 home games into the weekend. The club has set a school record with 15-straight home wins, improving to 51-17 since moving to Steen Sports Park in 2022.
 
BEST START EVER: The Owls continue to rewrite the record books in 2025, taking a 33-11 record into the Bushnell series – the first time the team has reached 22 games over the .500 mark. Prior to this season, OIT had a 29-15 record through 44 games during both the 2022 and 2024 seasons and a 28-16 mark in 2023.
 
30-WIN SEASONS: Tech's win in Game 1 of the Corban series clinched their fourth-straight 30-win season and the fifth 30-win campaign in program history. The 2024 team set the high-water mark with 34 wins, with the 2009, 2023 and 2025 teams earning 33 victories.
 
RANKINGS: OIT jumped to No. 7 in the second NAIA West ARC rating, which determines the 15-large bids to the NAIA National Tournament. The Owls have outstanding metrics – No. 6 among West ARC teams in the BoChip power rating (No. 45 overall), while ranking No. 15 in the Massey Rating and No. 13 in the Interactive Strength Report.
 
STREAKING: The 4-game sweep of Corban ran the Hustlin' Owls win streak to 13 games – the longest win streak in program history. OIT set the previous win streak record of 11 during the 2009 season. The current win streak is the fourth-longest active streak in the NAIA.
 
OFFENSE CONTINUES TORRID PACE: OIT dominated Corban pitching throughout the 4-game series, combining for 49 runs in the set – as the Owls have scored 8-or-more runs in 13-straight games (including a streak of 7-straight double-digit run games that ended in Game 4). Tech has posted 10-or-more hits in 14 of their last 16 games, recording a .384 team batting average during the month of April.
 
BASE STEALING: The Hustlin' Owls lead the CCC in stolen bases for a second-straight year, recording 131 stolen bases on the season – 17 off the all-time school record established last year. Tech swiped 12 bags during the Corban series – with the Owls boasting three players among the CCC's top-five base stealers – Julien Jones (25), Ka'ala Tam (23), Michael O'Daniel (18).
 
HORNER BREAKS CCC RECORDS, EYES MORE: Tyler Horner continued his record-breaking season, going 8-for-14 with three doubles, two triples and seven RBI in the Corban series – extending his school record on-base streak to 55 games. The senior moved his career hit total to 290 – breaking the Cascade Conference all-time record of 283 set by LC State's Riley Way, while surpassing the league record for doubles with his 66th – topping the mark of C of I's Greg Schelhaas. Horner became Tech's first player to reach 200 RBI – needing four RBI to break the CCC record set by Schelhaas in 2000.
 
BIG WEEKEND WITH THE BATS: Leadoff hitter Patrick Barry was the table-setter during the Corban series, going 9-for-18 with eight runs scored and six RBI, including two 2-run triples. Logan Macy lived on base in the series, going 5-for-9 with six runs scored and four RBI, adding a team-best seven walks. Matthew Ortiz continued his big year, going 6-for-15 with four RBI, recording his third 4-hit game of the season in the series opener.
 
WILLIAMS STAYS PERFECT: Game 1 of the series was dominated by Tim Williams, as the right-hander improved to 6-0 on the season with six strong innings, limiting Corban to one run on five hits, striking out six. It was the sixth quality start of the year for the senior, with Williams dropping his ERA to 3.43.
 
SENIOR DAY: Saturday's doubleheader marks the final home games in the career of 18 OIT senior student-athletes. Of the 18 players – four (Tyler Horner, Matthew Ortiz, Ka'ala Tam, Chase Hedani) have been with the program for four seasons. The entire group will be honored during the Saturday twinbill.
 
AROUND THE LEAGUE: The final weekend of the regular-season has a set of rematches from games played during the first half of the league schedule – as UBC travels to LC State, Eastern is off to C of I, Corban heads to Warner Pacific, with Bushnell playing at OIT.
