Allen Goes 7-for-7 in Lady Owls Sweep Warner Pacific

MILWAUKIE, Ore. – Zoe Allen was a perfect 7-for-7 on the day, scoring four runs and adding five RBI, helping Oregon Tech complete a 4-game sweep of Warner Pacific with 7-3 and 11-1 wins at Milwaukie High.

The No. 2-ranked Lady Owls (34-6, 17-4 CCC) sit two games out of first-place and one-game out of second-place in the Cascade Conference standings with six league counters remaining.

Puakea Milbourne smashed a 2-run homer and Addison Kachnik lined an RBI single in a 3-run first inning in the opener, with the Owls extending a lead to 4-1 in the fourth on an Allen RBI double.

Kachnik doubled in a run and Hayden Rockwell added a pinch-hit RBI single in the fifth, with Milbourne making it 7-1 in the sixth with an RBI single.

Kacie Schmidt made the lead hold up, striking out six in a complete game effort. Allen was 4-for-4, Milbourne was 3-for-4 with three RBI, with Marla Goodspeed and Kachnik each recording two hits.

Game 2 followed the script, as a Milbourne 2-run single in the opening inning helped OIT to a 3-0 lead – enough for Jenna Gorden, who held the Knights (9-28, 6-15) to just five hits in a complete game victory.

Tech doubled their lead in the fourth, thanks to RBI singles from Leah Huffman and Allen. An inning later, Allen cleared the bases with a 3-run triple, Sawyer Stenson doubled home a run and Kachnik provided an RBI single.

Allen was 3-for-3 with four RBI, with Kachnik and Jazmine Macias each recording two hits.

OIT returns home this week, hosting Carroll in a Thursday-Friday series.
