LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State shot 50% from the field and scored 18 points off Oregon Tech turnovers, as the Warriors ended the Lady Owls 10-game road win streak with a 73-54 victory inside P1FCU Activity Center.
Sitara Byrd scored 15 points and Ellie Sander scored 11, as LCSC (21-4, 15-4 CCC) won for the seventh-straight time.
Jozie Ramos led all scorers with 17 points, including a pair of early buckets, as the Lady Owls (19-5, 15-3) were all square with the Warriors at 10-10 with four minutes left in the opening quarter.
The hosts countered with a game-changing 17-2 run, getting 3's from Byrd and Ellie Sander, to take a 27-12 lead midway through the second quarter.
OIT trailed 52-34 in the third quarter, but posted 3-straight inside baskets from
Maddyson Tull,
Tatum Schmerbach and Ramos – pulling with 12 – but could not get closer, as the Owls made just 3-of-12 field goals in the final quarter.
Alexis Elquist had 11 points and eight rebounds, with Schmerbach scoring 11 in the loss for Tech – as the Owls made just 1-of-13 3-point attempts and were outrebounded for the first time in 22 games.
Mataya Green had nine points and eight rebounds, with Darrian Herring finishing with eight points and eight boards in the win – as LC improved to 6-0 all-time vs. OIT in Lewiston.
Tech returns to action tomorrow night, traveling to Walla Walla for a 7 p.m. match-up.
