Posts Lead Lady Owls to Overtime Win at Walla Walla

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Jozie Ramos scored nine points in an Oregon Tech 11-3 run over the final four minutes to force overtime, adding six of the club's 10 points in the extra session, helping the Lady Owls outlast Walla Walla, 72-70, at Windemuth Court.

OIT (20-5, 16-3 CCC) clinched their third-straight 20-win season – battling back from a 59-51 deficit with 4:25 left in regulation.

Ramos hit two free throws and added a 15-foot jumper, with Brooke Anderson converting a transition runner with three minutes left to cut the margin to 59-57. Ramos tied the score for the first time since the second quarter with an inside bucket.

Chariah Daniels gave the Wolves (7-19, 4-16) a 61-59 lead with a minute left with two free throws, but Tech turned to Ramos, who converted a 3-point play – giving the visitors the lead. WWU forced thanks to a free throw from Jaylo Bello.

Tech controlled overtime, as Ramos went 4-for-4 from the line, Alexis Elquist hit a short jumper and Anderson made a tough left-handed lay-up – as the Owls built a 72-67 lead, withstanding a late charge by the hosts.

WWU made 11-of-24 3-pointers on the night, as Bello scored 21 points – making six triples.

OIT countered with their posts – Ramos finishing with 22 points and 11 rebounds, with Elquist scoring a career-high 22 points with 10 boards. Maddyson Tull scored 11 off the bench, as the Owls outscored the Wolves 42-16 on the block.

The Lady Owls return to action Tuesday, traveling to Southern Oregon for a 5:30 p.m. match-up, before heading home for weekend games vs. Multnomah and Warner Pacific.
