BUCKEYE, Ariz. – The Oregon Tech men's golf team remains in striking distance after 36 holes at the Firestorm Fall Invitational at Verrado Golf Club.
The Hustlin' Owls (286-296 – 582) finished Round 2 at 8-over-par, sitting alone in fourth-place in the 18-team field. Texas Wesleyan (278-289 – 567) maintained their team lead by five strokes over Ottawa (284-288 – 572), with Victoria (293-287 – 580) two strokes ahead of Tech.
Jack Tieman (70-72 – 142) shot an even-par round, sitting at 2-under-par through 36 holes, tied with teammate
Cayson VanBeekum (67-75 – 142) in sixth-place. The duo are chasing leader Brady Meek (65-73 – 138) of TWU.
Silas Guzlas (75-74 – 149) and
Issey Tanimura (74-75 – 149) rounded out the Tech scoring quartet from Tuesday's round.
The final round is set for a Wednesday morning start at 8 a.m.
