Â
OPPONENT PREVIEW – WALLA WALLA: OIT opens the road trip on Halloween with the first-ever meeting with Walla Walla, who is beginning their second season as a women's soccer program. The Wolves (0-10, 0-10) are searching for their first-ever win, with opponents holding a 41-5 goals and a 323-36 shot advantage this season. Both Vicky Giardina (2 goals) and Brianna Vidali-Brood (2 goals) lead WWU in scoring, with keeper Allanah Rodriguez-Facio (4.10 GAA, 137 saves) leading the CCC in saves.
Â
OPPONENT PREVIEW – WARNER PACIFIC: The regular-season finale has Tech traveling Sunday to Portland for a date at Warner Pacific. The Knights (3-10-2, 2-7-1) have wins this season over Corban, Walla Walla and Pacific Union – but have been outscored 30-15, with opponents taking 203 total shots. Kiya Gramps (8 goals, 1 assist) is the top offensive option for WPU, ranking among the Top-10 in the CCC in scoring, with Kelsey Corden (2 goals, 2 assists) and Kylie Warner (2 goals) each providing depth. Keeper Kate Pomerinke (1.70 GAA, 71 saves) is among the CCC leaders in saves. OIT IS 8-0-1 in the last nine meetings with WPU and holds a 22-6-1 series lead.
Â
TECH CLINCHES PLAYOFF SPOT:Â With their win against Corban, the Lady Owls clinched their ninth-straight postseason bid and punched their ticket to the playoffs for the 15th time. OIT won the CCC Tournament title in 2021, while advancing to the tournament title game three times (2006, 2007, 2024). Overall, Tech is a combined 7-10-3 in CCC Tournament play and 12-14-4 all-time in the postseason.
Â
PLAYOFF PICTURE: All eight teams have been determined for the Cascade Conference Tournament (College of Idaho, Southern Oregon, Eastern Oregon, Rocky Mountain, Northwest, Bushnell, OIT, Carroll), with C of I clinching the regular-season title with a win in one of their final two contests. The Owls can climb as high as No. 5 in the final standings with two wins and help from other teams
Â
WINNING SEASONS: The victory over Corban guaranteed the Lady Owls their ninth-straight season with a .500-or-better and the 16th winning season in 26 years of women's soccer at OIT. Tech is two wins from reaching 10-win mark for the 13th time in program history.
Â
PLAYING ON GRASS: The Lady Owls will play just their second match on grass this season – as Walla Walla is one of four CCC schools (WWU, Providence, Northwest, Evergreen) to exclusively use a natural playing surface. OIT has not won a match on grass since the 2023 season – a victory at the University of Providence – dropping a game last season at Rocky Mountain and a game this year at Embry-Riddle.
Â
CLEAN SHEETS THE KEY: Tech did not allow a goal over the weekend – limiting Bushnell and Corban to a combined six total shots – in logging their fifth and sixth clean sheets of the year. Anchoring the central defense was
Shelby Geiger, who marked two of the five top shot-takers in the CCC (Elidia Cervantes Carlos of BU and Maya Alston of CRB) – holding the duo to a combined one shot. Teammates
Emma Glazebrook,
Chloe Cook and
Jaylee Curran were crucial on the back line, allowing keeper
Emma Beavin to make just three saves combined on the weekend.
Â
A MIX OF VETERANS AND ROOKIES: Playing in a driving rainstorm vs. Corban, the Lady Owls got production from a senior and two freshmen to account for their three goals. Senior
Kaelin Ness collected a looping through-ball from
Raeah Raymondo early in the contest and tucked a 10-yard shot into the right corner of the net for the game-winner. Freshmen converted two second half chances –
Naaliyah Robinson driving home a
Jaylee Curran corner, while
Maegan Cooper touched home a cross from
Alejandra Salcedo.
Â
TECH FINISHES UNBEATEN AT HOME: The draw with Bushnell and win over Corban helped the Lady Owls finish 7-0-2 on their own field this season – extending an unbeaten streak in the Basin to 12 matches, dating back to last October. It marks the second-longest home unbeaten streak, as from 2017-22, OIT rattled off 37 matches without a home loss. Playing at home has been key for Tech as during the 26 seasons of women's soccer at OIT, the Lady Owls are 120-60-20 in matches played in Klamath Falls. Since the school installed turf at the on-campus venue in 2017, Tech has been nearly unbeatable, recording a 51-6-9 mark.
Â
AROUND THE LEAGUE: The final weekend will determine playoff seeding, with Northwest (and Evergreen) hosting front-runners College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon, Bushnell (and Corban) will square off against potential first-round opponents Carroll and Rocky Mountain, with OIT and Southern off to Walla Walla and Warner Pacific.
