KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Despite an 11-2 edge in shots and nine corner kick chances, Oregon Tech was unable to find the net, as the Lady Owls and Bushnell played to a 0-0 draw at the OIT Soccer Field.
Playing in windy conditions, the Lady Owls (7-5-3, 3-4-2 CCC) controlled the run of play throughout – but Beacons keeper Ana Augusto made four saves to keep her team in the contest.
Senior
Solei Elletson had two chances in the first half to stake Tech to a lead – as Augusto stopped a low drive in the fourth minute, while in a 1-on-1 chance in the 20th minute, an 18-yard shot missed just above the crossbar.
OIT narrowly missed an opportunity just before halftime, as with Augusto out of position,
Claire Cowan hit a 30-yard shot into the wind on frame – with the Beacons (7-3-3, 6-2 1) defense clearing the shot off the goal line.
Bushnell had their best chance in the 58th minute, as a liner from the left side from Ohu Miles was stopped by Tech keeper
Emma Beavin.
The hosts had a flurry in the 65th minute, with a low shot from Elletson hitting the right post and a rebound from
Kaylie Hashizaki getting stopped by Augusto. The Owls last chance came in the waning moments – as Augusto stopped a 35-yard free kick from
Jaylee Curran.
OIT closes out their home schedule tomorrow, hosting Corban at 12 p.m. – with the six senior student-athletes on the squad set to be honored at 11:30 a.m.
