LEWISTON, Idaho – Oregon Tech placed fourth golfers in the Top-7 of the final individual standings, as the Hustlin' Owls set a new school record with their 10-stroke team victory at the Lewis-Clark State Fall Invitational at Lewiston Country Club.
OIT (286-285 – 571) had the two best team rounds of the tournament, with the Owls posting the lowest 36-hole team score in program history – besting their previous mark by 13 strokes.
Host LC State (291-290 – 581) finished second, with Spokane CC (294-289 – 583) in third.
The depth of the Owls squad was evident, as Day 1 leader
Cayson VanBeekum (65-78 – 143) did not have his score used by the team today – yet finishing the event in third-place at 1-under-par.
Tech got huge efforts from
Issey Tanimura,
Jack Tieman and
Silas Guzlas – each tying for seventh. Tanimura (76-69 – 145) shot a career-best 3-under-par 69 in today's final round, Tieman (73-72 – 145) shot an even-par 72, with Guzlas (72-73 – 145) shooting a 1-over-par 73.
Kade Bracken (77-71 – 148) was 13th, shooting a career-best 71 in his final round.
Lucas Rynearson (69-71 – 140) of College of Idaho earned medalist honors by one shot over Spokane CC's Stephen Paul (69-72 – 141).
Tech closes out the fall season in two weeks at the Firestorm Fall Invite in Arizona.
