CALDWELL, Idaho – Despite a season-high 21 shot attempts, Oregon Tech could not crack College of Idaho keeper Matej Hron, as the Yotes made the most of limited chances to earn a 3-0 victory at Simplot Stadium.
Hron made six saves in the victory, helping C of I (3-3-4, 3-3-3 CCC) pick up the home victory after a string of three-straight draws.
The hosts struck first, as Eric Hornung took a cross in the box in the tenth minute and slotted home the eventual game-winner.
The Hustlin' Owls (5-4-4, 3-4-1) turned to
Elias Castro, who had three quality chances over the final 30 minutes of the first half – but Hron stopped the OIT striker each time.
C of I doubled the lead early in the second half on a Sawyer Luthy finish, adding a late insurance goal on a Keidin Green penalty.
OIT finished with a 21-9 shot advantage and a 7-1 edge in corner.
The Owls return home next week, hosting Bushnell and Corban.
