KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon rallied from an early 1-0 deficit, scoring goals in both halves to claim a 2-1 Cascade Conference women's soccer victory over Oregon Tech at Community Stadium.
The Lady Owls (7-4-2, 3-3-1 CCC) struck first in the seventh minute, as
Alejandra Salcedo touched home a rebound off her own blocked shot inside the 6-yard-box following a corner kick.
The lead didn't last, as EOU (9-4-1, 6-2) put pressure on the Owls. A drive from Karina DeYoung in the tenth minute went off the cross bar and four minutes later, got the equalizer as a Macy Reed corner kick to the back post was headed in by Siena Salazer.
The teams played even until midway through the second half, when Ava Henkemeyer played a ball down the right sideline to Peyton Jacaway, who chipped a ball from a tough angle 25 yards away, over OIT keeper
Emma Beavin, off the left post and in.
Tech had two solid chances inside the final 15 minutes – but the Mounties cleared a corner kick chance and a 25-yard laser from
Sydney Soskis was stopped by EOU keeper Rylee Schei.
Eastern had a 12-5 edge in total shots, with both Beavin and Schei making two saves.
The Owls close out the road trip tomorrow with a 5:30 p.m. date at No. 4-ranked College of Idaho.
