Issey Tanimura shot a 1-under-par 71 in today's second round, helping Oregon Tech pull into a second-place tie heading into tomorrow's final round of the College of Idaho Invitational at TimberStone Golf Course.
The Hustlin' Owls (297-294 – 591) are tied with Lewis-Clark State (297-294 – 591) – 15-strokes ahead of fourth-place College of Idaho (306-300 – 606). British Columbia (289-277 – 566) recorded the two best team rounds of the day and have the Day 1 lead.
Tanimura (74-71 – 145) is in a tie for seventh-place through 36 holes – with the OIT senior chasing the entire UBC team. T-Birds ace Leighton Wright (71-68 – 139) sits at 5-under-par, one stroke ahead of teammate Jake Houston (70-70 – 140), with two other UBC players – Anesh Kaura (74-68 – 142) and Manpreet Lalh (72-71 – 143) all finishing under-par.
Kade Bracken (73-75 – 148) had Tech's best Round 1 score and is tied for 13th, with
Silas Guzlas (74-75 – 149) in 19th and both
Cayson VanBeekum (76-74 – 150) and
Jack Tieman (76-74 – 150) each tied for 22nd.
The third and final round is set for Tuesday, with an 8:30 a.m. (MDT) shotgun start.
