KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –
Ryane Mattox eluded a charging keeper and scored the lone goal of the match with 18 minutes remaining, as Oregon Tech remained unbeaten at home with a 1-0 victory over the University of Providence at windswept OIT Soccer Field.
The Lady Owls (7-3-2, 3-2-1 CCC) had the run of the pitch for the majority of the match, finishing with a 14-6 edge in shots, but the visitors from Montana hung around throughout.
Emma Beavin had four saves – including back-to-back stops in the 28th minute, diving to stop Kailey Camper and stopping a rebound chance from Chloe Pajaro.
Tech finally broke through in the second half, as a free kick near the midfield stripe by
Kaylie Hashizaki skipped through traffic, finding the charging Mattox, who found space past keeper Jennifer Alvillar and touched home the winner.
OIT had a chance to add to the lead – but shots inside the final 10 minutes by
Claire Cowan and Hashisaki each clanged off the middle of the crossbar.
With the victory, the Lady Owls improved to 5-0-1 at home in 2025.
Tech hits the road next weekend for matches at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho.
